Where to Get a HIPAA Certification?

The HIPAA Journal offers an online Accredited HIPAA Certification for individuals through a learning management system with immediate access after purchase. The course is available for completion on common devices, including mobile phones, laptops, desktops, and tablets, which supports completion outside an employer-managed training platform.

Accredited HIPAA Certification from The HIPAA Journal

Accredited HIPAA Certification from The HIPAA Journal is an online course that documents completion through mandatory modules and knowledge checks. The training is structured to provide a rules-and-practice foundation before an organization assigns internal policies, procedures, and system-specific requirements.

The course content covers the HIPAA Privacy Rule, HIPAA Security Rule, and HIPAA Breach Notification Rule, with practical instruction tied to day-to-day handling of protected health information and safeguards for electronic protected health information. The curriculum includes modules on patient rights under the HIPAA Privacy Rule, disclosure decision-making, incident reporting expectations for workforce members, and security practices for devices, credentials, and email. It also addresses emerging exposure areas referenced in the course materials, including generative AI tools and social media.

Optional modules are available for additional state medical privacy and security requirements in Texas and California. Additional reference and advanced modules are available after completion of the mandatory modules and certificate issuance without an additional charge.

Four Step Certificate Process

Step 1) access the training course on any device such as your mobile phone, laptop, desktop, or tablet.

Step 2) use pause-and-resume lessons to complete the training around your schedule.

Step 3) complete a short quiz at the end of each lesson, with no limit on retakes until you pass, and no exam at the end.

Step 4) receive the certificate immediately on completion for use in applications and onboarding.

Certificate Verification and Records

The certificate includes a verification process intended for employers or hiring agencies, with confirmation sent to an email address you specify. Retain the certificate and completion date as part of your personal training record, and provide the documentation when requested during onboarding or credential review.
